Here’s everything you need to know before applying for our Get Work Ready Scholarship.
1. These Terms apply to the Get Work Ready Scholarship that will be open for applications between 12.00am NZST on Thursday 10 September 2020 and 5:00pm NZST on Thursday 29 October 2020.
2. Entries start at 12:00am and close at 11:59pm every day between 26 August – 28 October 2020, and start at 12:00am and close at 5:00pm on 29 October 2020.
3. The Scholarship owner is Central Economic Development Agency Ltd (CEDA), TSB Tower, Level 1, 1-19 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North, New Zealand.
4. Valid applications must be submitted via the website or by emailing the Talent and Skills Senior at CEDA at kristi.atkins@ceda.nz. Large files should be sent through WeTransfer.com
5. Each application submitted must comply with the following (failure to do so will result in disqualification of the applicant’s submission from consideration):
a. Be a video of maximum 2 minutes in length OR a written essay in English no more than 500 words long OR a photo series/essay containing no more than 10 images and accompanied by no more than 150 words in English.
b. be the entrant’s original work and does not infringe any copyright.
c. must not be offensive, illegal, obscene or pornographic.
d. include an overview of how the $1,000 will be spent.
6. By submitting an application, you agree to give CEDA rights to use the copy, video and photography to promote Manawat? as a study destination royalty free.
7. Recipients will be selected by a judging panel consisting of three (3) judges. The recipients will be contacted via their email before 5.00pm on Friday 20 November 2020. The recipient must make contact by return email within one (1) week of being announced/emailed.
8. Scholarship recipients will receive a scholarship valued at $1000+GST to be spent on work preparation related expenses only. This may include but is not limited to:
– Work attire or uniform
– Courses that will enable the recipient to ‘Get Work Ready’ such as to complete a driver’s license course, English speaking course, CV support, or business network membership
9. The scholarship will be paid in full to the recipient in the form of vouchers for specified items at the business where the items are to be purchased, or providers of membership/training to be received. The scholarship must not be used for the purchase or supply of food or alcohol.
10. Scholarship recipients name may be published on Palmerston North City & Manawatu Facebook page and in any associated communications made by CEDA.
11. Staff and immediate families of CEDA are not eligible to enter.
12. Travel and other incidental costs associated with claiming the scholarship, are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
13. The scholarship is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
14. CEDA is not responsible for any applications that may not be received whether through personal error or information technology faults.
15. Judging decision(s) are full and final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
16. In the event that a scholarship becomes unavailable for reasons beyond CEDA’s control, CEDA is under no obligation to provide a substitute scholarship.
17. International Students are defined as fee paying students who are not New Zealand citizens or holders of a residence class visa.
