“Many items in the art collections are works on paper. We’re in the process of photographing every single piece.” Unlike framed paintings or sculpture, works on paper are often small and fragile, and present their own storage challenges.
High resolution photographs allow easy access to these parts of the collection. Within the gallery you will be immersed in a digital installation of these photographs, developed with artist David Lupton. In the future images from this project will be available on our website.
The objects in the gallery that look like spinning tops are in fact chairs. Please feel free to sit on them to experience a 360 degree gallery panorama!
Nau mai, haere mai! – Open daily from 10am to 5pm. General admission is free – donations welcome. 0800-4-A-MUSEUM.
