Te Apiti – Manawatu Gorge Loop Track

Time: 15-30 min  |  Fitness level: low

This short, well formed track is clearly sign-posted and is suitable for push-chairs.

This short loop track provides an opportunity for people of all fitness levels to enjoy native bush and birdlife only a short distance from Palmerston North.  Along the way are some small signs describing how students from College Street Normal School in Palmerston North view the bush and various trees. Also accessible from here is the massive Totara Tree, thought to be over 1000 years old.

Fitness: For those of all fitness levels. Suitable for children and push chairs.

Access: Located at the Eastern end of Te Apiti - Manawatu Gorge, just over the Ballance Bridge. Starting from the car park, the track initially follows the longer Te Apiti - Manawatu Gorge Track before veering left. Continue on the track, returning to the car park. The track is clearly sign posted.
