This is the big one! Spectators from around the world make an annual pilgrimage to Palmerston North for this international event full of action, excitement, noise and the sounds of the passionate team supporters.

Waitangi Day

Monday 6 February 2017 – 10am – 4pm
Te Manawa

Come together with your community to share kai, experiences and entertainment. With workshops, activity stations, music and stalls embracing the principles of whanaungatanga (working together).

Te Manawa seeks to provide a safe and engaging space for all to participate in our national day.


Dinosaur Encounter
24 September – 26 February 2017

Developed by the London Natural History Museum, Dinosaur Encounter features nine moving dinosaur models brought to life by state-of-the art animatronics. Visitors will get a thrilling glimpse at the ‘terrible lizards’ of seventy million years ago.

Adults: $12, Concession: $10, Children under 17: $6, Family pass (2 adults, 2 children $30.


Vodafone Warriors v Gold Coast Titans

Sunday 19 February 2017 – Kick off 2pm
Central Energy Trust Arena

The Warriors will make their first trip to Palmerston north since 1995. They will be putting their best available squad forward to face Gold Coast, expecting a solid performance ahead of the season starting.


Esplanade Day

Esplanade Day is the best way to enjoy a full day in Palmerston North’s most beautiful gardens.

The day comes alive with a fantastic mix of live entertainment, activities, food, culture and family fun!

Air Tattoo: 26th - 27th Febrary 2017

Royal New Zealand Air Force Tattoo 2017

The Royal New Zealand Air Force is celebrating its 80th Anniversary by showcasing its capability, personnel and skills with the 2017 Air Tattoo at RNZAF Base Ohakea.

With thrilling entertainment in the air, fascinating ground displays, rarely seen international military aircraft and great family entertainment, including the newly formed talented RNZAF Black Falcons aerobatic team.


Festival of Cultures
Friday 3 March – Sunday 5 March 2017

Friday 6pm – Join the launch of the Festival of Cultures with a lantern parade showcasing the Year of the Rooster

Saturday 10am – 4pm – The Festival continues with our city’s celebration of cultural diversity with a world food, craft and music festival. Come and experience the world in a day with local and national entertainment, international cuisine, creations and culture.

Sunday – The Festival continues with activities and events.

Friday 10 March – Feilding Town Square: Running of the Wools/Sheep Mustering. The launch of a weekend of rural-themed events in Manawatu.
