The Mataatua Kapa Haka Festival will showcase traditional-contemporary performing arts of the tribal groups from the Mataatua region,
This prestigious competition will bring together the best kapahaka performers from Tauranga Moana, Te Whakatohea, Te Whanau a Apanui, Ngai Tuhoe, Ngati Awa and Ngai Tai. These teams compete for the right to represent Mataatua Waka at the Te Matatini National Competition.
The Mataatua Kapa Haka Festival will take place at the Te Teko Racecourse on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February 2018.
