Te Manawa
At the heart of Manawatu region, Te Manawa is the only institution of its kind in New Zealand to unite a museum, art gallery and interactive science centre. The constantly changing exhibition programme features our nationally significant collections as well as innovative hands on interactive shows. We regularly host major international touring exhibitions.
During 2010 Te Manawa is undergoing a 5 million dollar redevelopment project. This project is of national significance as it will include the co-location of the New Zealand Rugby Museum on Te Manawa premises. The Rugby Museum will open prior to the Rugby World Cup enticing visitors from around the country and overseas. Te Manawa will remain open daily 10.00am - 5.00pm throughout the redevelopment.
