Stormy Point Route

Scenic Journey

Stormy Point Route is a brilliant alternative to getting to Feilding and Palmerston North City, away from State Highway 1.

Named after the Stormy Point lookout, where the views are phenomenal, stretching as far as Mt. Egmont and Mt. Ruapehu, and the West Coast. You’ll also see one of the best-preserved sequences of river terraces in the world. This route takes you high above diverse, lush farmland, through winding country lanes and past gardens, a boutique wool mill and a stunning artist’s haven. Keep an eye out for roadside stalls and quirky boutique stores.

Starting from Feilding in the South and from the SH 1 turnoff at Vinegar Hill in the North, this route climbs through hilly countryside with stunning scenery.
